Ideal for travellers with limited time who still wish to experience Tanzania’s most iconic safari destinations, this itinerary provides an immersive journey through some of the country’s most celebrated national parks
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be warmly welcomed by your private professional safari guide who will assist with your luggage and transfer you to your luxury hotel in Arusha.
The transfer takes approximately 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, offering your first introduction to Tanzania’s welcoming atmosphere and scenic landscapes. Arusha is known as the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit and provides the perfect starting point for your adventure.
Your overnight stay at Gran Meliá Arusha offers elegant comfort surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and views of Mount Meru. The remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing time to relax and prepare for the safari beginning the following morning.

After breakfast, you will depart Arusha for Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic drive of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours through the Great Rift Valley landscapes.
Lake Manyara is one of Tanzania’s most scenic parks, known for its lush groundwater forest, diverse wildlife, and spectacular setting beneath the dramatic escarpment wall of the Great Rift Valley. The park is famous for its large troops of baboons often seen at the entrance, as well as blue monkeys moving through the forest canopy.
During your game drive of approximately 4–5 hours, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hippos, and numerous bird species. Lake Manyara is also known for its rare tree-climbing lions, occasionally seen resting along the branches of acacia trees.
After a picnic lunch inside the park, you will continue the short drive to the Ngorongoro Highlands, where cooler temperatures and green scenery create a peaceful environment for relaxation.

After an early breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend approximately 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations.
Formed nearly three million years ago when a massive volcano collapsed, the crater now forms a natural sanctuary supporting one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the continent. Its enclosed ecosystem allows for excellent game viewing opportunities within a relatively compact area.
During your crater game drive of approximately 5–6 hours, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, hyenas, hippos, flamingos, and with some luck, the endangered black rhino. The crater is considered one of the best locations in Tanzania to observe the Big Five within a single day.
A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a scenic site near the hippo pool before continuing with wildlife viewing. In the afternoon, you will ascend to the crater rim and return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will depart for Tarangire National Park, a drive of approximately 2 to 3 hours through scenic countryside and Maasai lands.
Tarangire is known for its impressive concentration of elephants and its iconic baobab trees, creating one of the most recognisable safari landscapes in Tanzania. The Tarangire River attracts large numbers of animals throughout the year, especially during the dry season when wildlife gathers along the water source.
During your game drive of approximately 4–5 hours, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, hartebeest, and numerous bird species. Lions and leopards are also present within the park’s ecosystem.
After lunch and an extensive game drive, you will return to Arusha, a drive of approximately 2.5 hours, where you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight or continue your journey to Zanzibar if desired.
